Package One: Simple Family Background Check
$149 — Start Discovering Your Family’s Story
This introductory package is designed for customers who have a specific question and want an affordable starting point. Examples include learning more about a grandparent, investigating an ancestor’s birthplace, or checking a family connection suggested by existing documents.
What is included: A brief intake discussion, review of the customer’s starting information, and a focused search of relevant accessible records within the two-hour project allowance.
What the customer receives: A concise digital findings report with source references, available record images where permitted, and suggested next steps. A simple relationship chart is included when the evidence supports one.
This is a starter investigation, not a promise to reconstruct an entire family tree. When no reliable match is found, the report explains what was searched and what additional information could help.
“Start with a name. Discover where the evidence leads.”
Package Two: Military Background Check & Assistance
$199 — Explore and Preserve a Loved One’s Military History
This package helps customers investigate the service history of one military service member and navigate the process of requesting relevant records.
What is included: Review of identifying information, research in appropriate accessible military-history sources, assistance preparing one official records request when needed, and guidance about the authorization or supporting documents required.
Within the three-hour allowance, the package also includes a brief review of records received and one appropriately timed status check when necessary. Any further work requires the customer’s approval.
What the customer receives: A digital summary of documented findings, copies of accessible records where permitted, a copy of any prepared request, and an explanation of outstanding questions or next steps. Findings may address service dates, branch, rank, assignments, or awards only when supported by the records obtained.
Important Information About Military Records
Many basic military-record requests are available free directly from NARA to eligible veterans, next of kin, and authorized representatives. The $199 ABC charge is for optional professional research, organization, and assistance—not a required government fee. Archival records may carry separate copying charges.
Military personnel records generally become publicly accessible 62 years after separation from service. More recent files are subject to access restrictions, and third-party access may require signed authorization from the veteran or eligible next of kin. ABC’s service cannot bypass those restrictions.
This package does not include VA benefits-claim preparation, appeals, or legal representation. Government processing time is outside ABC’s control; NARA states that response times vary with record availability, request complexity, and workload.
Suggested promotional line: “Honor their service by preserving the history behind it.”
Package Three: Family Heritage & Legacy Research
$399 — Build a More Complete Picture of One Family Branch
This package provides a larger research budget for customers seeking more than an introductory search. It focuses on one selected branch of the family, with research priorities agreed upon before work begins.
What is included: An initial planning conversation, review of existing family information, and a broader investigation of relevant accessible sources. Research can pursue documented relationships, places of residence, migration, occupations, and significant life events as the evidence and project time permit.
What the customer receives: An organized digital research report, a source-supported family chart reflecting the findings, a timeline of documented events, available record images where permitted, and recommendations for further investigation. A brief results-review conversation is included within the six-hour allowance.
The report will distinguish supported conclusions from unresolved possibilities. A particular number of ancestors or generations is not guaranteed, and this package does not promise a complete history of every family branch.
“Discover more of your family’s past—and preserve something meaningful for its future.”
